Collection portfolio, created for my BEHANCE profile, exhibiting the development and final outcome of the interior collection Pangaea.
PANGAEA – A supercontinent that existed during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic age. It began to break apart about 175 million years ago.
For this collection I looked back in time at plants from this era, ones that still exist and some now extinct. Pulling this together with the upcoming trends of bringing the outdoors in, overgrowth, drawing in rich deep tones of indigo.
Exhibition at New Designers, Business Design Centre, London.
Initial Mood board. To develop a moody, misty atmosphere for the home, pulling up lost and forgotten plants, researching into the prehistoric era and glasshouse tropics. Constructing a need to experiment with different material thicknesses and weights.
Final Collection Papers & Fabrics.
Progressing through one of my large scale designs.
Images of development throughout designing the collection.
Bringing The Outdoors In. Designed for Autumn/Winter 17/18 interiors, taking inspiration from Japanese Woodblock printers and Mount Snowdon, North Wales. The collection involves textural marks and a large scale mountainous wall mural.
Inspired by gatherings from the garden, using light and airy colours for a Spring/Summer 17/18 interior. A speedy collection designed in the timescale of 2 weeks, using a mixture of observational illustration, photography and CAD.
